 ON-LINE: When booking your reservation on-line guests received a written guarenteed confirmation by establishment/guest of your reservation: (date,room,price,form of payment,duration,reservation number #ID, directions etc.) DIRECT/PHONE: When booking your reservation via direct phone guests received a guaranteed verbal agreement/confirmation by establishment/guest of your reservation: (date,room,price,duration, # in party, form of payment,reservation guarantee, directions to home.) CANCELLATION NOTIFICATION: Clearly stated in written/verbal/website/s 7 day cancellation policy in full effect from expected date of arrival. It is the responsibility of you/(guest) to understand the date and time until which cancellations can be made without penalty. ALL/ANY changes to reservation requests must be done: (new confirmation/s will be sent out via E-Mail/Phone with agreed changes). Cancellations 7 or fewer days of the first night of confirmed reservation/ not showing up (NO-SHOW-without confirmations) the first night/s charge (in full) for each room/s is automatically (consistently) applied. EARLY DEPARTURE Cancellation of the balance of the stay by leaving prior to the confirmed reservation original date of departure according to the terms of the reservation, will result in an automatic charge of 100% of the total balance for all rooms that would otherwise have been paid. NOTE: Changes in *dates or **number of person/s in the party must have "written" prior confirmation from Establishment(host/hostess) prior to arrival date. *Dates: 1. Changing the date of a reservation to a later time may result in the cancellation penalty being waived. Cancellation/s of the new reservation/s and date/s will result in the doubling of the cancellation charge, (first and second cancellation), which is the first night, per room, reserved for both reserved reservations. 2.Changing the date/s of a reservation to a later time may result in the cancellation penalty being waived. A credit voucher maybe offered to be used at a later time more conveinient to guest(subject to availability, excluding all holidays and weekends,excluding summer season(May -November)(6 month expiration from when reservation was originally created). **Number in Party: Appearing, arriving on the date of your reservation, or changing it after the "Latest Time and Date to Cancel Without Penalty"(7 Days) with additional people (infants, toddlers, children of any age, adults, seniors and/or any term used to describe a living human being/person/s), animals of any kind, does not obligate Ellis House Bed and Breakfast to host the confirmed reservation. New terms of the size of the party, at the time the reservation was made, confirmation sent, disclosure of the exact number of "ALL PERSONS/ANIMALS" in the party was requested and/or required. Failure to withhold full disclosure of all information, "the number" of PERSONS/ANIMALS in the party is considered an automatic cancellation and a charge/s for each room for each night will apply. Whether or not the room is re-rented to another party is not the concern of the guest who has cancelled. At the time of cancellation, the terms set forth in the confirmation are executed and the relationship between (Ellis House Bed and Breakfast) and that specific customer is deemed terminated in all legal terms of application. Once a reservation is administratively completed by scheduled appearance and departure, advance cancellation without penalty, or cancellation with penalty, the subsequent disposition of the room , attendance of customer or internal activities at Ellis House Bed and Breakfast is no longer germaine. In cases where there has been cancellation with penalty, the unsolicited "auditing" by customers to see if the room was re-rented or such is considered inappropriate and unsolicited harassment. Cancellations at the Ellis House Bed and Breakfast are VERY rare. Regardless of the legitimacy of the reason, it is not policy to check its truthfulness or make an objective judgement that would result in a credit. Therefore, the cancellation policy is applied consistently. Discression of the establishment whether a credit is applied (based on an individual/individual)case. If you choose to dispute a charge/s, you do have full recourse to petition for a credit. In such cases where a charge/s has been applied, contact the bank that issues credit card. DO NOT contact Ellis House Bed and Breakfast. Legal process are at the discression in establishment and financial institution. Paperwork(financial institution/establishment), proof of and why cancellation occurred(cancellation #/ID from establishment)will/usually resolve discrepency. Ellis House Bed and Breakfast makes final disposition/determination if the reason/s for cancellation or conditions are of legitimate in nature. Therefore, we may/may not ask, verify or request details (death certificate,medical certificate, etc.). Reguardless of nature, it is the establishments right to consistently charge in the event of unforeseen, life/death nature without proof. Recourse to dispute charge/s would require actual copies providing substantive documention attesting to the events that caused cancellation directly to financial institution, who will thereafter make final judgement. Serious and truthful accounts result in a credit from financial institution. Cancellations where events cannot be documented remain unresolved and no change in charge occurs. Cancellation insurance that can be purchased from credit card issuer/financial institution. This insurance provides travellers means of recourse, especially when cancellation is not due to life and death issues, but those of a less serious nature (scheduling, detained in travel, etc.) |
